Google says 18.8 pesos per dollar
Getting real close to the old days when a peso was worth a nickel.

When it was frozen, it was 8 cents. Never saw the nickel rate.

When we crossed the border heading south in February 1986, it was about 180 pesos to the dollar. When We crossed heading north in early May, it was
about 350!
Numbers are approximate, because it was changing by the hour. Greenbacks went a long, long way back then.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

This chart shows 20.50 pesos per dollar; i.e., 1 peso = a nickel on 1 September 1976. At least I think that's what it shows.

During this devaluation period between the release of the frozen Peso
[ 12.5 to 1] and the NP, prices fluctuated to keep up with deterioration of the Peso. There were very few bargains as I recall, the Peso being over
3000 to 1 before The NP was put in place. It was like the old Yen. Nobody in the world would touch disintegrating currency.

I just bought from Bank of America for 18:1. I thought that was a pretty good purchase price.
