Road from border to Playas (Internacional) closed 6/29-30, midnight to 6am

FYI
The main road from the border to Playas, Avenida Internacional, will be closed in both directions, June 29th and 30th, from midnight to 6am.
They will be placing the concrete beams for the new bridge during those 2 nights. You can use the alternate routes via downtown to Playas or Playas to Downtown or just simply take the free road.

Are there any graphics depicting what is being built? Is it related to the border crossing? Will it result in improved traffic flow for border crossing traffic?

Yes, specially for those that take the toll road going south.

Thanks fdt. TJ is a fast growing city! And this new rapid transit system is a good idea.

I recently had a great lunch downtown and it is a different place. Much better than the days with the loud bars, cheap trinket stores, and roving American tourists, usually drinking way too much.

Now there are far fewer Americans and far more locals visiting Centro. What an improvement.

Here's where we ate. It was busy and we were among the few Americans there. I'll be going back. All sorts of food and craft beers.

When I cross early in the morning with very light traffic, I quickly leave the aduana. Granted it's not high speed because it's narrowed upon leaving, but once past the chock point, it's fast.

Crossing at very busy times, it's a different story. All the different lanes are merging., and drivers are jockeying for position. I've always thought this was intentional, very similar to series of speed bumps after leaving Customs on the US side. All the easier to nab any violators.
