Weekend in the desert with Baja authors, Marvin & Aletha Patchen (photos)

Last year, over Presidents Day Weekend many Nomads went camping south of San Felipe for a Matomi Canyon expedition... it was great ( http://vivabaja.com/204 ).

This year is much wetter, and the desert flowers are blooming like crazy! Elizabeth and I were invited to the Anza-Borrego desert home of Marvin and Aletha Patchen. They have been exploring Baja since the 1950's.

When not in Baja, they are in the closest thing that resembles central Baja, the Borrego Desert.

David,

I saw their slideshow at Discover Baja...I am sure it was a real treat to visit with Marv & Althea. Their 'By Land, Sea, Air" book is my favorite Baja book of all time.
