Development south of Rosarito
I only post this as I find it interesting...
So, I am at this exact moment sitting in the In and Out restaurant in Pacific Beach (and connecting via my wireless connection thank you) - and 3
gentlemen next to me are discussing major development plans in the Las Rocas area south of Rosarito. Major plans, satellite images, mock-ups,
architect plans (from Rosarito) - and the discussion is over financing, etc.
Point being this... the development in this area appears to be on a trend of "you ain't seen nothin' yet."
Good for some  and not for others  .
I just thought it was an interesting coincidence to be seated next this discussion (especially considering the location) - and thought I'd share...
see if there were any other comments about development in this area to be made by others.

I personally dont want to see any more developments in this area. It seems everytime I drive to the border there is something new going up. Just south
of Bajamar there is a new overpass that was recently being built. Does anyone know what that is all about. There has to be something being developed
there but I cant see it.

that is where Sempra Energy is building its LNG terminal, although the ownership of the land is being disputed in Mexico City D.F. court.

Think they are contemplating more of this?
Forgive me as I shot this picture from the window of a moving bus. I work with a very conservative hard nosed building and saftey division in our
county. I don't think this would ever pass.

That picture is just east and north of New Port and she has been there for over 15 years. My understanding is that she was originally in TJ and was
moved because neighbors objected. When she first landed here, unfinished, she was draped in clothe.
It is my understanding that Sepmra is working on their plant south of Bajamar at Costa Azul.
I think the area Nomad is talking about is where the new highway from Tecate comes in near Popolta.
Anyway part of our decision to sell our home of 26 years, in La Salina, was due to the handwriting being on the wall as far as a solid build up from
Playa Tijuana to La Mision and in just a very few years.
Hard to believe that Rene's at south end of Rosarito was basically the end of civilization deserted until you hit the Half Way House and then nothing
until San Miguel. And it ain't goooa get any better because---where are they going to put another north-south road.

Maybe Baja Cactus will update us on how the Diamante Del Mar project is going in El Rosario. We heard they hit up against the typical "Ejido" problem.
and have been in limbo for a while. At least we don't have takeoff noise from the jets at their international airport.

Within ten years every meter of land west of the toll road, south of Rosarito and north of Bajamar will be developed. Million dollar + homes beach
front. 750-350 thou + two and three rows back. All of the campos will be gone. No more rental property.
Two, twenty story condo high rises are going in north of campo Reynoso. 40 upscale homes and condos just south of New Port hotel. Two more twelve
story towers planned for Calafia. And this is just for starters.

FYI
Baja Sur is building much faster than Baja Norte. Roads are being built, existing roads are being paved, and there are many people who visit their
friends here that also buy property and build.
Orange County all over again to be sure.
