Boat Registration Question

I'm wondering if anybody has dealt with this situation. I'm asking for my neighbor who is trying to figure out how/if he can get the boat registered in Mexico.

New panga hull bought from builder in La Paz
Honda outboard brought in from USA (new)
American citizen on FMM, spends 6 months a year here.
Gracias
Bruce

You might ask a general hypothetical question to Conapesca, making it clear the intention and request assistance.

https://www.gob.mx/conapesca/acciones-y-programas/tramites-y...

Contact

https://sap.conapesca.gob.mx/gob_index.php?mod
¡Sugerencia!

Or visit the regional office
https://conapesca.gob.mx/wb/cona/sitios_de_pesca_baja_califo...

It's common for Pangas to registered to "owners" and be used by others.

You'd think the boat builder would be able to provide some assistance.

Have you checked with the Capitan de Puerto there in La Paz? They should be able to at least help guide you in the right direction.

You also might check with Arjona Marine right there on Abasolo. I know they outfit a lot of gringo pangas so may be knowledgeable of the process. Also I believe there is a legal office right there in Marina de La Paz that help foreigners with their legal questions.
