2020 Tutor and students POSADA Christmas party PICS 12/22
Dec 21, 2020 was the date chosen to celebrate Tidiana and Abraham's kids, as well as Alejandro, doing great this past trimester. The tutors came thru
with flying colors, the kids responded and we had A's and B's on the report cards....so, I planned this party. It was magical. One of the best days I
have lived.
First the kids prepared Christmas cards, and in a gift bag, they chose a xmas decoration, some candy canes and a red writing book.
Here is the table where I set out the students gifts for their tutors.
The Christmas lights.
The first part of the party was the kids getting my individual present for each one! I chose these with so much love!
Genesis and her doll.
Jireth Diana and her bracelet and necklace weave set. She came to me later and said "I really like my present!".
Here are the boys!

Part two was the students giving each of their tutors their cards that they made and the gifts. The tutors were really happy and surprised!
Alondra getting her gift from Ismael
Elizabeth getting her gift from Emmaneul
Jesus getting his gift from Jireth Diana
Danna getting her gift from Isaac
Sannia getting her gift from Alejandro

Part 3 was the tutors giving their gifts to the students. It was so so fun!
Alondra loves her student so much, and it shows, so I took a series of photos:

Part three was Tidiana and Abraham opening my gift to them! I gave them a water pump in the hopes that they get the water up to their property.
Then the tutors got their bonuses and the gasp was audible!!!!! Thanks Doug and Larry for making this possible.
I took the opportunity to ask what they had been spending their pay on. Two are selling Avon products so they reinvest, one helps the family, Jesus
buys his own shampoo, clothes etc. and Sannia says she buys clothes.
Then we went to PINATAS!!! First the kids and they had a blast!
Then we did the pinata that I got for Tidiana and Abraham hahahaha We did not blindfold anyone, they had at it! It was a very well built one so it
took many whacks!
Both of them told me they never ever had a birthday party, much less a pinata in their honor. This was a first for them and they thoroughly enjoyed
it.
I took some videos and if i can upload to youtube I will post them.

Finally, it was time for food! We have 2 guests at our house and POK CHI, who is from Hong Kong, offered to make Chinese fried rice. It was so so
so delicious and we were so lucky to have him cook the real deal for us!
POK CHI IN THE HOTEL KITCHEN
WIFE DAPHNE STIRRING - SHE DID ALL THE DICING
THE CHICKEN FRIED RICE DISH
THE CURRY FISH RICE DISH
I MADE BRAZILIAN BLACK BEANS
It was really, incredibly rewarding to see so many happy faces. I feel like I am the lucky one to have bajanomad and my family and my friends help me
bring such glee to this family.
The new shoes were ordered from Amazon US and will take a while to arrive...but they are new and beautiful!
Thanks everyone, from the bottom of my heart, and from Tidiana, Abraham and the kids! On the board it says: It takes a huge village!

The course you charted out for Tidiana, and Abraham's family this year will surely have long term, positive effects. Not just for the family, but for
the helpers as well!
Good job!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Thanks! I had the WHY IS EDUCATION SO IMPORTANT talk with Mom and Dad, and the kids were listening. I will have this talk, over and over every year.
When I asked Jireth Diana what she wanted to be, she said a hot dog lady. I have my work cut out for me so this kid dreams bigger.

The thought that neither Tidiana nor Abraham had ever had a birthday party is so sad, but knowing that you were able to give them that experience is
absolutely heartwarming. Good for you!
But yes, better that Jireth Diana is able to buy hot dogs from the hot dog lady than actually being the hot dog lady. Eventually her education will
open up whole new worlds for her, and her dreams will follow.

Paul, very sad to think that they never ever had a party indeed. Tidiana'a birthday is on the 27th of this month and I will bake her her own cake and
probably take her out to lunch at the Cabanas restaurant where we can eat outside and be safe.
Still not one case of the virus here in town!
Merry Christmas my amigos and amigas. May we continue to be blessed.

I am making or learning how, I should say, tamales today with my daughter-in-law (Chris's wife). She was born in Baja and does the traditional tamal
prep on Christmas Eve. Leaving soon...

I made tamales once and boy, what hard work! Makes me appreciate them all the more. How I love tamales!!
Tidiana and Abraham's kids are having a wonderful vacation, I saw them 2 days ago when I stopped by to give Tidiana some birthday gifts. Her birthday
was Dec. 27th.
Mexico is in dire straits with the virus, San Ignacio has been hard hit and the health center there has asked for a nebulizer.
Tutoring will start up again in January - classes restart on the 11th.
Happy New Year coming up soon!!!
