Really Old Bread

A carbonized loaf of bread from the 79AD Pompeii volcano with the Bakers stamp visible.

I think I have had some Bimbo bread in Baja older than this pretty well preserved.

When the cruisers were still having Loreto Fest in Puerto Escondido, one entry in the creative scenes of boating life contest involved the use of Bimbo bread. It won first prize, and returned to the festival yearly, for a total of four years if I remember correctly. No harm done. The owners eventually sailed away, so who knows how long it might have lasted. Wish I had a photo.

reality\'s never been of much use out here...
