Bodrun and Kas, Turkey

The last 2 days we traveled to Bodrun where a high school colleague's Mom invited us to stay with her. She is 87 years old, not so healthy, but it was so much fun meeting her! She has gone around the world 7 times on cruise ships...

Bodrun is beautiful but packed with tourists and I mean PACKED. The views are spectacular, many boats, lots of very wealthy folks. It was wonderful to visit but neither of us would go back for the place, but we will go back to visit Golum, my amiga's mom.

I went to an International high school in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where all of us came from around the globe. In my travels now, I meet up with friends or their families. I have not seen my high school friend since high school but with facebook, we are all connected. We were going to meet up with her Mom and take her for a meal, but she is lonely and wanted very much for us to stay with her. It was a treat and she is now like my second mom. The three of us bonded.

Pics later, when I am in Germany visiting my son who is in the American air force in Dudeldorf. Turkey does not let me post!

After Bodrum, we went to a very tiny tourist village called KAS. The hotel was sub par, it was way up in the mountains as opposed to the beach. My first disappointment with air bnb since it had a 5 star rating and it was not. at all. near 5 stars. The shower entrance, for example, was beside the toilet with an area of maybe 2 feet across to get in. Nahhhhh no bueno at all! But the view of the ocean was incredible, the view of the mountain was incredible, the pool with spring water was incredible too.

There was zero parking in town, narrow roads that were difficult to negotiate, beaches with so many people it was unreal! Good for kids, teens, not for us old folks. We did find a cute little place for lunch and had parked so far away that we had to take a cab to return to the car! Only cost 20 turkish lira which is about $2.50 but still. It was just a stop on the way back to Alanya but I will go back to see the archeological site there.

Again, photos in a week or two! Stay tuned!!
