La Bocana update August 2021
As most of you know, we have been on vacation here in Poland and Turkey since June but that does not mean I have not been busy with La Bocana
happenings!
Cutie Jireth continued studying over the vacation, she chose the days. The idea was to make it fun so as to keep up her amazing progress in learning
how to read (she has a learning disability - very hard to retain information.)
Here she is using the white board that MMc donated way back in the day, it is behind the hotel for any tutor to use.
Here is Jireth's tutor, Sannia, with her weekly cash. Bertha was the one who would stop by and pay her every week. It takes a village!
Sannia has really matured, this tutoring experience jogged her out of her funk. Look at her smile in the photos! A year ago, she would not even look
at the camera! God works in mysterious ways.
Bertha has also been super busy! She hired Abraham (dad with 7 kids) to build her a clay stove. Win-win for both. He made some well earned cash and
she got her dream oven to bake breads and pizzas in.
Bertha was sponsored to make a meal a week the months of June, July, August, September. She chose this gentleman to be her September recipient and
here he is with his pizza.
FYI Bertha's food is exceptionally tasty. If you are ever in La Bocana, with 24 hour notice, she can make you an amazing meal.
She has been busy with her dogs!
Someone dropped off baby kittens for her to nurture. Need to get a jump on fixing cats, for sure. That is one of her goals.
Bertha is a good but troubled soul. She has been down the hard road of recovering from drugs and seems to be doing well. Her Mom thanks us for
giving her a reason to get up every morning. Thanks to all who have helped with her sponsorship to start her PATA SALADA animal rescue project.
Have a wonderful day, week, month, year!

great programs! thanks for supporting their education and development.

Nice Blanca,
Being useful in life, gives one purpose and a happy life.
Get those kitties fixed, they breed like rabbits.
Since I've given up all hope, I feel much better
