Mining El Arco
A follow up to a previous mention:
https://mexiconewsdaily.com/news/new-power-infrastructure-in-baja/
.... won't say where power will come from....no mention of environmental study...
It might even happen.

Just the project of installing hydro lines alone will be an undertaking....and maybe set up new off-road routes?
Or would it be paired with existing power lines?
DK, we need a powerline map

I think Harald was who posted the trans-gulf undersea power cable route map? It crosses near El Barril.

No, it doesn't exist. I've been reading about it for years and the last I read said the project "stalled" and I think that's still the case. I'm
interested because an abundance of electricity would enable rapid development, which I don't want because I'm old and don't want things to change
until after I go through the checkout stand..

I just turned 70 and am thinking I am approaching the "old" category soon....
Whole-heartedly agree with no desire to see such changes.... in this case, "back to normal" makes sense to me.

Lencho, it was a map of the proposed route so it does not exist yet. The power converts from AC to DC for the undersea run. BCS would finally be on
the national grid. Currently, it is isolated from the rest of the nation.

As I recall the electric lines come from the geothermal plant near Santa Rosalia west and up following much of the No Wimp Trail to El Barril before
going under water to the mainland.

notice that El Arco is close to El Barril (El Infiernito)
remember the article mentions 500 km of new powerline
that would cover mainland to El Arco and down to Santa Rosalia
