DART.... coming up soon

Countdown to impact as NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) attempts humanity’s first-ever test of planetary defense! The DART spacecraft will intentionally crash into asteroid Dimorphos at 7:14 p.m. ET on Monday, September 26, 2022 to see if kinetic force can change its orbit. Why? If this test is successful, the same technique could be used to deflect an Earth-threatening asteroid in the future, should one ever be discovered.
DART’s target asteroid is NOT a threat to Earth before, during or after the impact event.

can be viewed on multiple sources, I'll be watching on the evil FB:D

It will be interesting to see the results. It looked like maybe a big conglomeration of rocks and ??? Perhaps the Webb telescope can focus on it, perhaps it already was on station. In addition to the orbital deflection they are hoping to detect.

They just showed a telescope recording of the impact on BBC, you can see debris from the asteroid. It also sounds like they did succeed at deflection of the target.

Perhaps we might escape the fate of the dinosaurs, but now only fated to fall by our own hands.

But, today let's look on the bright side! Science and math get the job done, again. Our epitaph has yet to be written.
