Estero Coyote and Campo Rene - Updates?

Hi all,

Haven't been to Campo Rene since 2019. I know it was closed for awhile but reopened in 2022(?). Has anyone been recently? Care to share any trip reports?

Hubs and I plan on heading there December this year or possible January, with truck and travel trailer.

Thanks!
Kristene

Thanks Blanca! We'll probably make a stop in La Bocana again too. We enjoyed it so much last time. Is Nacho running your place now?

Did the photos indicate that the buildings have been fixed up? We checked it out during the COVID closure, and it was in disrepair.

Campo Rene has a wonderful new group of young people running it and has been fixed up alot and the restaurant now has fantastic food too...it has a new look and energy. I think there is a kayak fishing tournament there soon too. They are very active on Facebook these days those milenials!

I have passed by Campo Rene at least a half dozen times, but the one trip I decided to try the camp it was closed. Please report back with your experience!

If it is open, they should update their facebook page. Nothing new has been posted since February 2020 when they did the COVID closure.

Hi Kristene! I ndid not realize it was YOU !!

Yes, Nacho is indeed running the hotel and does a great job of it!

If you have room, the Oaxacan family in La Bocana needs 4 backpacks. Two boys baqckpacks for the kindergarteners and two girl bhackpacks for the elementary school kids.

Have fun and be sure to post photos here so we can dream of Campo Rene too!

I have pleasant memories of Campo Rene. On three trips we escaped the east coast heat to the cool Pacific breezes. Have not been there in at least 12 years.
