La Bocana Oaxacan family kid photos
As most of you know, there is a family in La Bocana that used to live in the dump. Over the years, we have helped them build a home, get electricity
and water. We tutored the kids during Covid. Now they all get A's and B's, they are proud of themselves.
This year we have gotten them uniforms and school supplies! I have a friend who is taking down NEXT YEAR'S school backpacks in September. I am on
it!
I thought I would share some photos of them that I just got.
Emmanuel
Ismael
Isaac
Genesis
This week, the boys will get haircuts in preparation for the start of the new schoolyear.
Thank you all so much!!!!

The paths forward for that family are unknown, but at least they have options that would be tough to follow without your support. Good job Blanca,
and all others who have stepped up to help!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Update: Emmanuel just started middle school and took a Math entrance exam which he aced! The director of the school singled out Mom Tidiana to tell
her!
I have been concerned about the kids repeating what their parents did but my worries are groundless. Apparently yesterday Emmanuel told his parents
that he intends to have only one child of his own! All the others said they wanted 2 kids max.
They see their parents struggling ~ a neighbor told me they ran out of gas in front of her house two days ago.
Thanks to all who have helped! Education will get these kids on their feet, independant one day. It is the ONLY possibility to change their lives
permanently.
