Corona Beer declared safe

Nomads who may have heard the rumor going around that Corona beer is connected to the feared“Coronavirus” and panicked and poured out their Corona, there is good news. (except for the wasted beer) The Chinese have officially declared Corona beer is perfectly safe and has no connection with the virus bearing its name. This was on the evening news this evening. This news arrived in time for me to save mine.

Safe is about the most exciting adjective that could be used to describe Corona.

Is Corona even beer?

The beer of choice in Baja appears to be Tecate.

Just don`t let your favorite Mexican bartender put a wedge of lime sticking in the Corona bottle. You`ll not only get the "Coronavirus", but you will also get Lyme disease.

To be "safe" for me, it would have to be Corona, sin alcohol! Wouldn't that be special.

It's already in the US, what purpose would closing the border do? I'm sure we have more Chinese arriving daily in the US than Mexico does in a month.

I'm really surprised. I thought Chinese preferred Tsing Tau.

San Miguel Pale Pilsen worked for me in Subic Bay/Olongapo, P.I.

Very safe.

Unfortunately this will probably be the end of Corona. I still miss Ebola beer and bird flu hot pockets.

The Beer of Choice in Baja ?

From what I've seen, the choice among Mexicans seems to be Bud Light.

Which doesn't say much for their taste.

As to Corona Extra, it's hard to understand some of the passionate dislike often expressed. But then, it's hard to understand that sort of crazed obsession over food/drink. There have been very few beers that I've ever sampled which I'd not drink again. Even Bud Light if offered.

Corona Extra a mild inoffensive Pale Lager. OK on a hot day. Nothing more or less.

My current favorites are Stella Artois, Guinness Stout, Heineken and (when I could find it) Steinlager.
