remember when carta blanca had the cast-in recessed hole in the bottom of the bottle to assist in removing the cap?
im surprised that the idea didn't gain more traction.

YES - haha - back in the 1980s it was our go-to Baja beer, mostly because the guys loved that little trick.

It was more than a little trick, it was a necessary tool. Those early Mexican twist off caps were so tight that you could hurt yourself trying to get
one off....especially as "happy hour" progressed!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

A couple of queries:
How did a bottle opener become known as a church key?
At a yearly family gathering in Las Vegas years ago, we went to a bar with a frozen counter top, Red Square?, and had one of the best Vodka Martinis
ever for its smoothness. The name of the vodka they served was Long Tall Blonde.
I have never seen that brand offered anywhere else and wonder why?
The Long Tall Blonde remains as one of the smoothest vodkas ever, although St Petersburg comes as close as anything and deserves to be imbibed with
nothing else, straight up.
I limit myself to one a month, usually on a Saturday afternoon/evening and the appreciation has never diminished.
Red Square in Vegas was adjacent to a world class restaurant, Aureole sp? that also remains as one to the best culinary experiences of my life.
Long Tall Blonde, where did you go? Literally and figuratively. Dream on.

Look up "Church key" on Google, lots of information.
It must have been good vodka, since you forgot the name.
It's called "The Tall Blonde Vodka", not Long Tall Blonde.
