Canada/US border finally to open, early Nov....

I am not anti-vax, in fact I just got round three of what Pfizer brewed up. I think that anyone who could show proof of recovery, and a very recent negative test should be free to move about the country!

It looks like only those who are sent to secondary will have to show proof of vaccination;

"Foreign visitors crossing into the United States by land or ferry will need to be vaccinated but will not necessarily need to show proof of vaccination unless they are referred by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol for secondary inspections."

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Why would anyone not get the vaccine?

And why would you sit in long border line and risk being rejected if you are asked to provide vaccination proof you do not have? And also risk being put on list as having lied to CBP, resulting in loss of sentri or inability to ever get sentri?

Get the vaccine. Don’t be a dumb maga dufus.

Well, if you're Mexican, who the border restrictions affect the most, perhaps because they are available only on a hit-and-miss basis. Vaccines were just available in TJ for several days at a gov. facility a considerable distance east of centro. Then they ran out, disappointing 1000s, probably 10s of thousands, of TJ citizens who want to get vaccinated but can't.

If they are only checking in secondary, 1 out of 1000, or fewer, will be checked.

And there is no mention if one shot is OK or both are needed.

It was a discussion of lifting of border restrictions for fully vaccinated people... Justice is supposed to be blind, yet the rules or the law are not applied equally by the U.S. federal government. It is a legal comment, not political.

90,000? Insignificant! The number of unvaccinated undocumented immigrants is minuscule compared to the 140,000,000 unvaccinated usa citizens.

Exactly!
Goat wants that injection no matter if it is needed or not, he also is counting the millions of children under 12 who have no vaccine, yet.

70% of Americans have had at least one shot.

That leaves about 99M. 50M of those are under 12. That leaves 49M. Probably 20M of them have had Covid. Leaving about 29M you all are crying about.

Of those 29M, only a small % (<5%) are crossing the border. They are required to be vaxxed.

1.4M are know to have crossed illegally. Another 50% of that are get aways. Those 2M+ ppl and counting are not required to be vaxxed and are being bussed all over the US.

I know it's a bit selfish of me, but the 2020 - 2021 COVID winter months in the Bahia Concepcion - Mulege area were really nice because of the smaller crowds. With the northern border open, the Maple Leaf flags will again be flying on Baja beaches.

I agree 100%. I spent more time in Baja the last 18 mos. than I have in years. I´m gonna give this fall and winter a miss because I too believe it´s gonna be a zoo.

I read that COVID vaccines also cure leukemia.

Really? Come on... Most Canadians fly to Cabo. And we could fly down there last year too. Most of the Canadians that I know that have a place were there last year. There will be a few RV's coming south but it will hardly be a zoo?

Bahía Concepción (Feb. 2017), wall to wall RVs at most beaches, many flying a Canadian flag... but, that's okay, eh? The most polite people you ever will meet!

I agree with David on the crowds part. Last winter in the Mulege area was much less crowded with the border closure. I think many older Americans also decided not to come down for the winter.

I did a story about the beaches on my Mulege site - https://heymulege.com/2020/12/02/beach-report/

Sounds like nothing has changed for Americans. If you have a US Passport they have to let you back in and I seriously doubt Mexico ever requires visitors to be vaxed, considering how they have been one of the easiest countries to get into throughout the pandemic.

A picture is worth....It seems that I was wrong. But my guess is that there are many, many more RV's from the US than Canada on most of the beaches.
