| Does this make sense to anyone?

Posted today - is this pre-running?

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNlXR08cjm0

Edited to say that many folks informed me (and others) that this was not a random - drive into town and show off event - that it was a staged and
organized show by Gordon. I posted the video link shortly after it was showing on You Tube and the clarification of the situation was not available at
the time.

See subsequent comments further down for even more clarification.

I would like to think he was putting a show on for the locals? It looks like someone was giving him the all clear? Baja does love their racing but
still not sure if that was a good place to put one on? Would have been a fun ride... Can't wait to buy one of hid new SXS'S...

Is that San Ignacio? I still think of it as a sleepy little plaza.....

 What a POS!

 People like that disgust me.

Hope he crashes during the race. (I don’t wish any injuries though)

We left San Ignacio about 9:30 this morning. Lots of big trucks towing trailers full of tires headed south.

The picture is from about 3KM south of the HWY 5 turnoff around 13:30!

He's at La Mision tonight. He walked by us at the bar with his kid.

That is Robby-style. He is a true showman and has a huge fan base because of it, going back decades to a wide-open approach and some really huge jumps
in SoCal (and San Felipe) sand dunes. He is an extremely talented driver and always gives Baja races his all, preferring them even over the Indy 500.
He is loved by many if not most locals in Baja. Whether this was wise, of course, is subject to debate.

Pretty likely it would have also been at the approval/request of the San Ignacio authorities. Whether this was wise, of course, is subject to debate.

A Baja 1000 peninsula run is bigger than the Olympics or Super Bowl to Baja. For those who love it--enjoy! For those who dread it--will be over soon

There were other videos of other pre-runners arriving at the San Ignacio mission plaza and doing donuts there... I think it is really low class,
personally. Obviously, (some of) the locals enjoy it, otherwise they would put a stop to it?

pacsur - this has nothing to do with off road races, and vehicles per se. it's asinine behavior.

 your statement is not accurate.
better to say that some mexicans love the races, some are ambivalent, and some dislike the races.

perhaps you find this hard to understand, eh? let me give you an example: some gringos like golf, some dont. (racing is like golf -- a stupid
pastime that some like and some dont
   )
