| SENTRI/Global Entry app- now 15 months "pending"

 November 2021 applied,
Wife approved in two weeks, had interview in Douglas, right away, nothing received since..... still waiting

My app is now 15 months "Pending review"
I have tried all the phone numbers, web sites, etc.

I am afraid to file a new application because I suspect that the government will really screw it up even worse.

 Pretty frustrating.

Biden is going to the border this week, maybe I should email him and ask if he can check in on the status....

Same, I re-applied August 2021 and still states "Pending Review".

In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for
you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in gods name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the
future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers? |

I get asked why I don't have a Sentri... This is one reason.
So sorry that this has been so difficult, Dick. Maybe a bottle of Gallo will help?

I got mine in 4-5 months. My kids got theirs in about 2 months.

You are foolish if you don't get Global Entry. Between Sentri and lines at the airport, I've passed probably 100 hours of ppl standing in line.

I honestly think my trips to Mexico will be so few since my Baja Bound mapping trips, like one or two per year, the cost and fuss of this is simply
not worth a shorter wait. When I cross at Tecate, mid-week, there is no or a very short wait.
 Thank you, just the same.

Write your local us representative. Seriously, they (staff) usually are responsive, sometimes they can unstick stuck things.

In my experience, writing your senator is futile (they get too many people asking for help). Writing your rep often gets results.

Duncan hunter jr used to be my rep. He was a total a$$hat buffoon (truly the dumbest of the dumb). But his staff were the people that field the
queries, and do the legwork. quite responsive and helped me unstick some stuck fed bureaucracy.

Can’t hurt to write your congressman. You got nothing to lose.

I just received my conditional approval 2 days after submitting my application. I'm not sure why it went so quick, but I'll take it! I thought I
could do a virtual interview but learned that is only for renewals so now I'll have to figure out the a convenient time to head to one of their
facilities. I'm in San Francisco area and no facilities close to here.

Here is something to try. I can't recall how we found out to do this. Global Entry/Sentri interviews were also backed up in fall of 2019 when we
submitted our applications online. It just so happened we were on an international flight back into the USA in January 2020. We went to the Global
Entry desk at USA immigration and requested our interviews. After about a 15 minute wait we met with one of the agents and then the entire process
took about 15 minutes, with fingerprints and a little friendly conversation. We received our cards in the mail in about 10 days. Worst case scenario
they send you back to the regular check-in line. BTW you don't have to physically show your vehicle with this method, you simply enter it's info
online in your global entry application.

When I renewed in summer 2020 I did Global Entry since it is cheaper and serves the same purpose. Had approval in a couple days and my new card came
a few days later. My husband submitted his renewal application a month or two later and waited months for conditional approval AND had to go to an
interview, but at least with GE he didn't have to interview at the border. It's the luck of the draw.
