Tacos - San Felipe / BoLA
I am looking for some recommendations to stop for great local food. We will be traversing Laguna Hanson to 3, to San Felipe, then down to BoLA. Any
must stop places along that route? TIA!

On the San Felipe Malecon (seaside street), at the south end, was a food court with several taco/ seafood restaurants. Now, maybe one or two: Mariscos
La Morena and Mariscos El Guero. No complaints there.
As you enter Bahía de los Angeles, past the sailboat monument, on the right, next to the Lizeth Market is China's (chee-nah) Place. Great fish tacos,
and birria on Sunday. China pased away a couple years ago but her daughter continue's in her mom's place.

There is a great taco stand, right next to Bar Mir Mar. I think It
is called Maria's? You can order and they will bring it to the bar
for you. If the bar is open? was closed the last few times I was
there.

San Felipe on the Malecon
Forget about Mariscos La Morena. It went downhill in recent years. Went there yesterday against recommendations and confirmed there are many better
places.
Best tacos IMO is Adriana,s next to Bar Miramar. She is only open when there is an event with tons of folks. The only thing she sells are tacos. When
she is open folks stand around waiting the stand around eating. Her bar had more ingredients that anybody else. Usually, we sit at Miramar patio and
get a beer
Taco Factory is always open and is a great second choice. Sit down place with a bar. Excellent options for Tacos

We went to Mariscos La Morena last January (2022) and the lobster with shrimp sauce and mango margaritas were GOOD!

Maybe not tacos but....
Great burritos, had lobster burritos once or twice there.
When you get to the end of Highway 5 and turn left onto Highway 1, about a quarter of a mile on the right is a little family restaurant. You won't be
disappointed.
We've also eaten at a little place on Highway 1 about 200 yards north of the BOLA turn, next to the tire repair guy. Not as good as the first choice.
Last time through there it looked as though it may not have been open.

Four of us had dinner at Mariscos la Morena in February. We each ordered a different platos de camarones and passed them around. Each was excellent
and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Where in San Felipe can you get some “interesting” tacos? I am thinking of the street tacos you can find around TJ and San Diego, where vendors
are getting creative with street tacos. Think artisanal tacos.
My experience eating tacos in San Felipe is that the tacos are standard, nothing creative or new.
San Felipe is sometimes my lunch stop on trips south, so looking for something new/interesting, not the regular old fish tacos that seem to be similar
in the restaurants along the malecon.
Woke!

will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”

I hit Mariscos La Vaquita last week and it was really good. I had lobster and my daughter had fajitas.

Chenowth Legacy Lodge, 20 or so miles south of San Felipe, is worth the stop. Great food, a cool off-road museum and a nice beach.
https://chenowthlegacylodge.com.mx/
Guillermo's at BOLA has excellent fish tacos too!
