Head's up on Volaris

Let me first admit that I'm an ADD adult, early 70s of age and not quite a sharp mentally as I used to be - but still way ahead of SWMBO, just saying.

In early July, after getting advice from some of you on this board, I made early morning reservations with Volaris from TJ to Leon using the Cross-Border Xpress for late October.
We booked a day-before SWA flight to SAN, got a nice downtown hotel the night before.

In early Sept I get a note from Volaris that my flight had changed, in fact if I would approve the new flight they would credit me $45. Looked like the flight would leave at 8:30am instead of 9:30, no big since we are spending the night in San Diego, just get up a little earlier. I hit 'approve' and don't think about it.

Yesterday I'm organizing the paperwork for the trip and can't quite get the crossing time straight so I decide to call Volaris and work it out. The lady tells me that yes, the flight leaves at 8:30am on Saturday. Saturday??? I say no, we are on Friday and she says no you're not, you agreed to the change back in September. Sure enough, in teeny tiny letters it does say Saturday.
No problema, can you book us Friday.....No, sir, that flight is full.
Wow, I'm in really big doo-doo.
We get it all fixed by flying late Thursday afternoon, but can you imagine the sheet-show that SWMBO would have thrown if we had shown up at CBX Friday morning and been denied access as our boarding pass wasn't for the next day??? Not to mention the Hotel booked in Guanajunto and our friends waiting for us.
I have been relieved of all future travel planning duties, thank god.

Just my opinion, but I try not to fly Volaris if I can... I've had some good experiences, but most are just "OK" .. some have been ... not great.

In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in gods name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?

Does anyone know if Volaris has actually changed their schedule for La Paz? For years I've flown down in mid-October on VOL 580 leaving around 0900 and arriving about 1100 then flying home just before Thanksgiving on VOL 581 leaving around 1130.

This year my return flight on VOL 581 looks like its leaving from La Paz at 0800 where it gets to TIJ in time to turn around and become the VOL 580 southbound flight?
