Mulege Pemex

Every year I check when I first come to Mulege, to see how out the pump is at the Pemex on the highway. I fill a 10 l gas can that miraculously now holds 12. 5 litres .

Good news this year it is bang on! 10 litre Jerry can took 10.05 litres.

Hopefully this lasts.

A couple of years ago I got the tank in my Kia stretched out at the gas station on the east side of Chametla. I was directed to the only pump that did not have an attendant, and did not have an awning over it.

No Locals were served at that pump!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

That Mulege highway Pemex has been notorious for years. We reported them to Profeco, (Mx. Consumer Protection Agency), a long time ago. Glad they are shooting straight..........., for the moment

Always ask for "litros completos?", and see their reaction.

Ok

Update from Mulege “Gas Buddy”

My 10litre Jerry can took 11.5litres. So a 15% rip off. It has been as high as 25% in the past.

So fill up in Santa Rosalia or hold out until Loreto.

Things are pretty bad when Santa Rosalia gas stations are being recommended. I use to avoid them at all cost in the past.

There most certainly is but one side to every story: the TRUTH. Variations of it are nothing but lies.

Hi Steve!
Yes, the Santa Rosalia station were bad, except one. The one on the east side of the highway, nearest the harbor (if my memory serves me). Last time there was in 2019.

Great news! Last bought gas there in 2017, and it was really bad then.
