New gas station scam

The other day I used my Amazon card at local San Vicente gas station. It pays in Mexico Pesos at high Ex rate that day 20.30. The gas station has posted 12.70 for dollars. The lady took my CC card I noticed brand new card reader. She could not get my card to read over and over she tried. Then she asks if it's a CC pays in dollars . I told her no pays in pesos we went in office. Manager showed her how to use new CC reader. She then gave small print out 500 peso. Min later my email gave notice of the charge all good I got 20.30 ex rate. My good friend from S. Dakota went there hour later pd for large amount of fuel. They gave him a large print out I have never seen before. of Dollars and pesos. when He got home he checked the charge on Amazon card . They gave him 19.00 to dollar ripped him off 250.00 pesos. He gave me transaction slip I went back there . Demanded Manager inside office where gas station manager . Plus his boss and a friend works there perfect English. I started to tell him problem he asked can he come out of both talk to me. I said please do told him story and said my Amigo will return and this gas station. Has to return his money he said the new card reader was one day only . Plus different bank as old card reader not working that day . I told him not our problem when you post 19.70 ex its not 19.00. Besides that we get 20.30. He said the gal gave him the gas its her mistake . We had meeting how to use different card reader. Again, not our problem you will return his money . He said bring him back I will refund his money . Except its comes out of her pocket as office will fire her. All this for nothing . When big Butch came back he told them I dont want to have her fired or take money from her. Except dont ever pull this again

had an interesting gas station "experience" in Santa Rosalia.
Santa Rosalia is always the most innovative place for gas station scams.
Guy zeroes the pump.
Duhh...
Fills my tank.
"Accidentally" zeroes out the display
wants a very high amount of Pesos
double of what my tank would ever hold

So I told him that would pay the amount on his display
meaning 0 Pesos
he got angry
I swallowed my adrenaline
I asked him to call the police or I would do it
I drove off with paying nothing

the one and only time in 40 years of Baja I was not effed at a gas station

by the way I have a list of gas stations that are kinda good and mostly bad

My Mexican Friends told me no way will I get money back. HAHA that's what you think. At the end of the day it was offered the money back. Since we both live here it was his decision to not take money back. Get the gal fired or take money from her pocket. Years ago, over three SV gas station manager owners. Jailed one made headline news paper each time. station roped off pumps marked closed by state.

Which gas station was that? We never use the Pemex stations there. We fill at the first station on the waterside when heading north, VIP fuels. Never had a problem there.

The VIP used to be Pemex, was one on my favorites - until they started to cheat a few times.
