Happy cinco de drinko!
Today all gringos will celebrate Mexico by doing shots of tequila until blacking out!
Woke!
Hands off!

It is not even celebrated in Mexico
The real story
On May 5 the French met some angry farmers on the outskirts of Puebla
So they retreated a couple kliks - set up camp, probably hoisted a few
Next day they marched around the city, down the hill and set up office in downtown DF
Where they stayed for 12 years, still hoisting a few I suspect.

It’s likely that the origins of Cinco de Mayo celebrations lie in the responses of Mexicans living in California in the 1860s to French rule in
Mexico at that time. At first the holiday gained popularity in areas with large Mexican-American populations, like Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and
San Jose, but later took off as a celebratory day in the 1980s. Now, Cinco de Mayo has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American
culture.

Here in san diego cinco de mayo is mostly a marketing event to sell chip/dips and mexican beer at local big mexican-themed bars.
Woke!

This year, not so much. A number of major celebrations have been cancelled due to concerns about ICE intervention. (El País article in Spanish; ask your browser to translate it.)

Give me a break. Have you ever been to a Cinco de Mayo event? I've been to many. The people who go aren't the ones ICE is looking for.
This is just a lib reporter spewing fear.

If I was MX, I'd enjoy the Cinco at home, definitely not in public.
ICE targets names and bet they will be in abundance for celebrations in Denver, a very large MX community. Just read your debacle-in-chief is
paying MX $1,000 to leave. Show up to collect, get arrested. Where's the integrity?
US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.
What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

Lee- You are spreading false information.
The $1,000 is paid to Illegal Aliens upon them being gone from the USA. Free flights are arranged at their direction.
DHS also said preferential treatment will be given to any Alien seeking citizenship in the future if they self deport.
Why would you be against that? You allow strangers to walk in and live in your house? No, you dont. Get real dude

The problem here? You believe what you read. Probably trust DHS. That says it all.
Preferential treatment to immigrants? Not with this administration.

The Mexican victory over the French at the battle of Puebla has been celebrated in Mexico for many years. This can be seen by the many places named
Zaragosa (e.g. Ejido Zaragosa, on Hwy 3, and Arrroyo Zaragosa in the Sierra Juarez. The slim, bespectacled Zaragosa, only in his 30's, was one of the
victorious generals on the Mexican side. He died soon thereafter, of typhus.
