Another one gone. Lots of the old timers are moving or passing away.
Met Minerva once in the late 80s as I sometimes tagged along with a friend who legally sold fishing tackle, commercial and sport, up and down the peninsula out of a box truck. I never met her husband.

Minerva's was very vocal and instrumental in getting the foreign flagged, factory ship and their long line fleet of huge boats out of the Sea Of Cortez in the 80s and early 90s. These boats were really messing with the Seas fish production and Minerva and Bob knew these foreign boats had to be stopped if there was going to be a sportfishing industry left in Baja. There extensive lobbying in Mexico City and in Cabo worked and the fleet was booted out.

I am grateful for their efforts and continuing efforts to promote a more sustainable commercial and sportfishing industry in Mexico.

Reading the words Bob left us it is obvious it was a good ride for him, his family and anyone who was lucky enough to be in his life.

Tight lines, DEP.
