A powerful faction of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel warned that they are going to kill American citizens in popular tourist locations
#mexico
The warning, delivered via public banners known as narcomantas, highlights the dangers in the cartels' war against U.S. law enforcement who are working to stop human trafficking and the flow of illegal drugs into the United States.
The threats were first seen in the resort corridor of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur—a destination once marketed as safe for Americans but is now ground zero for cartel infighting.
#california
Two banners were draped from a bridge in the Las Veredas neighborhood and along the highway linking Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, with the signature of "La Chapiza," the armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel loyal to the sons of imprisoned kingpin Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
The messages vowed retaliation against U.S. interference in cartel operations, holding American officials directly accountable.
Christina Aguayo News
The cartels accused federal agents of overstepping by targeting their labs, weapons caches, and personnel in Sinaloa and Baja California Sur.
This comes as Trump has launched a crackdown on trafficking drugs and humans across the border with FBI Director Kash Patel and DEA Administrator Terry Cole leading aggressive operations against fentanyl trafficking and cartel networks.
The banners say "We will show you how we will wage this war. We will begin to eliminate every American citizen residing in areas where we have a presence."
#ChristinaAguayoNews
Patel, tasked with dismantling transnational crime syndicates, and Cole of the DEA were singled out by name, alongside Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and her security chief Omar García Harfuch.
The cartels described them as meddlers, warning, "We run things here, you bunch of bastards, and we’ll prove it if you don’t stop arresting our people and seizing our labs and weapons."
The threats stem from recent joint U.S.-Mexico raids that took down cartel strongholds in the Sierra de Badiraguato mountains, a Sinaloa hotspot.
La Chapiza said the violence is payback against rival faction "La Mayiza" but extended it to Americans as leverage, exploiting the estimated 1.6 million U.S. citizens living or vacationing in Mexico annually.
The implications are felt far beyond Los Cabos, reinforcing warnings that popular destinations have become no-go zones for Americans.
Cancun (Quintana Roo): Frequent shootouts and kidnappings plague the Riviera Maya, with cartels battling for control of drug routes and extortion rackets.
#cancun
Tijuana (Baja California): A frontline in the fentanyl war, where cross-border shootings and abductions make even daytime strolls a gamble.
Los Cabos (Baja California Sur): Once a jewel for retirees and golfers, now marred by these fresh threats amid rising homicides tied to turf wars.

If authentic, these threats will only seal the fate of the cartel operators.

Hmmm, good find. I looked for other sources, and none came up.

Did you use google search?

Tough to know what's real these days. Lots of AI slop out there. Take a close look at the first photo of the three military guys in the link I posted. I think it's an AI-generated photo. Zoom in on their hands. AI has a hard time rendering the human hand. And what's the water behind them, a swimming pool? They're standing on concrete that goes up to the water's edge.

We'll see if the major news organizations pick up on this story.

The FB "page" does appear to be full of weird stories and AI generated images.

Another article here, where the Cabo mayor states the banners were not real?

In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in gods name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?

Care to be aI little more specific about the source?

"I heard it on the Interweb" doesn't do much for your credibility.

Those narcomantas get hung up in baja sur almost daily. The social media journalists post pics of them frequently (FB, insta, twitter, etc), and the more established news sites run articles on cartel activities occasionally, often mentioning the latest banner messages.

Heard about this last night from a Mexican friend. Haven't seen any mentions yet in the US media BUT I don't think it's too far off to think that a criminal organization's livelihood being threatened with disruptions and extermination would fight back with any means necessary.

We are animals. The fight for control and power won't stop anytime soon. It's deep down in our wiring.

Where does this all leave us? Right where it always does:

This moment.

Go enjoy it and if something bad happens, hopefully you'll get thru it. If you don't - you're dead and won't notice.

Have a good week!

MSN news feed

I saw a link on my MSN news page, but it was more of a "click bait" than actual news report.

Basically it was Instagram posts and denials from the Los Cabos officials, and nothing that doesn't show up in the posts already on this forum.

Why is the OP so intent on fearmongering that he keeps starting yet another new thread, about exactly the same thing, posting every "influencer" video he can find?

Guess you'd have to ask him that, no?

What makes me a little skeptical of the whole thing is that any group would be so self-destructive as to intentionally provoke U.S. authorities like that.

Seems more likely that, as Univision theorizes "...this could be a strategy by the rival group to further strain relations between El Chapo's sons and the US authorities."

Or some move by U.S. agents, to justify intervention due to her citizens being threatened.

Sounds rather like fabricating stories about burning cities and violent rebellions so you can justify creating a police state and instituting martial law. But of course no one would do such a thing, right?
