You honestly think it's the medium that's the problem?

Personally, I think it's the disrespectful environment.

A platform upgrade isn't going to change that, and at this point it'd be a waste of effort without a subtantial policy change.

The heyday of BN were the years of JR Baja/Ski Baja.

And he wasn't the most polite person in the World. Lol.

FB, Covid, and people getting old hurt BN. I haven't posted on FB since 2006.

It does take maturity to be respectful and able to ignore insults from those who are not mature. Oh well, I hope to still see trip reports here and historic site discussion.

In fairness, it can get pretty quiet in Baja during the summer months. My wife and I visited Todos Santos in July 2013 to see if we thought we could handle hotter weather there. Our casita didn't have air conditioning, but fortunately we were close enough to the ocean to get some nice breezes, and ceiling fans took care of the rest.

Various know-it-alls, frequent posters who don’t actively travel to Baja, these don’t contribute to attracting others.
Post trip reports and experiences….

The world has changed since this site came online. The internet has changed. Social media has gobbled up the relatively small share of "Baja" topics online. Phones are what people spend time on these days. Attention spans have shrunk.

Baja Nomad members have literally been passing away and cannot post anymore. New members are run away by rude know it alls. This site is no longer conducive to growth. Are 20 year olds posting on here? 40 year olds? It was a fun run though........met some fantastic people here:

Blanca
Shari
Terry28
Woody
Soulpatch
And many others........

My last trip was to check the progress of our future property in Ensenada area and go to the dentist.

Next one is to the Cape.

Life is a series of deaths......next chapter is now.

Go get it!

That is what Baja has always symbolized to my small brain........=)
