San Jose Days(daze)

Tonight is the first night of the festival of Saint Joseph held every year around March 19. All streets around the fountain(Mijares and Zaragoza) are closed and the tents for the venders are up. It is a wonderful local celebration and it lasts until March 19 this year.
If you are in the area, stop in for some local food, goods for sale by local artisians, carnival rides, barking blankets, some sort of program on the stage in the town square hourly tonight and next weekend........

bajajudy...could you tell us why Joseph was sainted? And what part he plays at this time of year?

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

I know very little about the Catholic church but I think that all saints have a day and Saint Joe day is March 19. It is a huge celebration here. People from all over the area come into town. You can still see ranchero people riding their horses into town. It is a joyous celebration and this year looks like it will be a big one for sure.
