Graham Mackintosh is back from the island, 3-14-06

A letter from Graham to all the Baja Nomads with special detail on the rattlesnake kill (that bothered a few of you enough to comment) is just now posted with three photos in the Graham Mackintosh 'Marooned' thread...

Ya' know, Gilligan was the Skipper's "Little Buddy" and Thurston was faithful to Lovey. That left both Ginger and Mary Ann for the Professor. No wonder none of his inventions ever worked to get them off the island.

"Come on, admit it, you liked Gilligan's Island!"

Sure, it's a silly little show, but who hasn't wondered what it's like to be stranded on an uncharted desert isle? And who hasn't wanted a slice of Mary Ann's coconut cream pie? (Sorry, Felipa.)

The Cast
--------
Backus, Jim Thurston Howell III
Denver, Bob Gilligan (some say Willy Gilligan)
Hale Jr., Alan Skipper Jonas Grumby
Johnson, Russell Professor Roy Hinkley
Louise, Tina Ginger Grant
Schafer, Natalie Lovey Wentworth Howell
Wells, Dawn Mary Ann Summers
Maxwell, Charles radio announcer

The Music
---------
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, and the rest,
(the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,)
here on Gilligan's Isle.

So this is the tale of our castaways,
they're here for a long long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
it's an uphill climb.
The first mate and his skipper too,
will do their very best,
to make the others comfortable,
in their tropic island nest.
No phones, no lights, no motor car,
not a single luxury.
Like Robinson Crusoe,
it's primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my friend,
you're sure to get a smile.
From seven stranded castaways,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.

Note: Some of the Gilligan's Island music was done by John Williams,
formally of the Boston Pops.

Good theme music for all us island dwellers. That's your truly stranded by my fishing buddies....island lighthouse up by San Marcos. NEVER get out of the boat to take a breather...
