Life is what you make of it
I moved to Baja to enjoy the rest of my life. I had the mistaken idea that it would always be like it was 10 years ago. I, too, was sorely
disappointed when all these stores started coming in. I now see that it is what is happening and it is helping the economy thereby helping my Mexican
friends. Even if they cant shop at these stores, some of their friends or relatives are employed there. All around me my neighbors are all employed
and adding on to their homes; some are selling and realizing a nice profit and moving to colonias where there friends and families have moved.
If you lived here full time, you would appreciate some of the positives of these stores. Having fresh fruits and vegatables, wonderful wines, breads
like you get in San Francsco, has improved the quality of my life, even though I didnt really notice that it was missing.
I still plan to enjoy the rest of my life here. I have convinced myself that walking to the 514 slip marina for dinner will be a good thing and I
long for the sound of slapping halyards from all the boats docked within 400 meters of my house. By the time the marina is finished, I may need a
motorized wheelchair to get there, but that is another story.
In short, you cant walk in my shoes until you have lived here.
For anyone who thinks that they are losing it. I posted this before on the wrong thread...sorry
