Baja Tattoo Artist

Now Nomads, here is a real challenge for ya all!! My husband who is a "Miluso" (jack of all trades or in this case, Juan of all trades) but his favorite is that of Tattooing...there are lots of folks here in our village who line up for his tattoos, but the problem is, his homemade machine with a single needle is very slow and he has been trying to get a better machine for years now....all his friends ask what they can bring him and he always says....a tattoo machine....but no one has come up with one yet...sooo I just thought I'd give this forum a try too, ya never know till ya ask...right??? So, if anyone know of one of these contraptions we could buy, por favor, let us know....and Juan says he'll give you a free tattoo!!! So Nomads, let's see what you're really made of! Ha! Good hunting!

Oh no Doug, that's cheating...I don't do e-bay...no credit card...too much choice, and I don't like to buy something without seeing it, or someone else seeing it. Juan needs a liner and a shader, either or or both....whatever...and something not too expensive of course, used is bueno too.....so the prize is still up for grabs. So now that I have all the tattoo freaks attention.....who has the best baja tattoo??? Let's hear about it, pictures??

all these young kids are starting to show up with Tattoos around here and it is causing a lot of problems with there family's. some are disowned. this makes me very sad.

I hope you are not doing any of this on under aged kids. I notice you allow your daughter to have it done . and that is fine if that is what you want but do you realize that you have just narrowed her prospects of marrying in to a good family or having even a friendly relationship with a lot of people here in Mexico.

Bruce, Even though Baja is the Last Frontier, and I remember the stigma once attached to body art here, Ah but, I think the times; they are a changin. I have been surprised to see some young ladies that are from "good familes" with body piercing and art tattoed on them. They are lawyers, doctors, professional people, students are for sure picking this up, Mexico really wants to be modern. I expect the people on the ranches to be a little taken back at first, and I can most certainly see some of the old hens sitting around at a dance in Mulege clucking over it the first few times they see it, but this culture does tend to judge you by who you are, (or maybe who your family is or has), not so much what one looks like.

Hey Bruce...My daughter wanted her tatoo and designed it,it is a very discreet one on her shoulder and everyone, and I say EVERYONE here in our village loves it...even the abuelas...it is very tasteful and lovely and I'm happy to say my daughter would never marry anyone who judged someone by a tattoo. I'm not in the least bit worried. I've treated tons of kids from excellent families who ended up in our crisis center, who didn't have tattoos but did have some sad drug, alcohol and sex problems, which thank Dios, my daughter does not!

I'll try to post some pics of some of my husbands tattoos...he does alot of fixing up other tattoos and is a fine freehand artist. He just draws what you want. Plus you get to hang out with us while you are getting it done.!
And yeah, we're always into trades for sure....he's done more than one tattoo for beer!

you know...times are changing and i think anyone who judges a person by how they look or dress can go very very wrong...most of the time those judgments are wrong any way...but really...the tattoo's i have are discreet, cute, colorful and on the bottom line nice all around..all the people that have seen my tat have loved...i even showed it to a priest (since it's on my shoulder it shows) and he said it wasn't that bad compared to some other ones and that as long as i did not get in to the stuff that some tattooed people do it was fine...and i am pleased to say i don't have anything to do with people like that and even if i did that would not mean i would do any of it....you know i'm a pretty smart girl on those grounds and i know lots of people are proud of me and it's those who i love who i care what they think more than any thing else...no offense...i mean it's just easier to live that way....
