Food for thought

you know it is a funny thing about society and the way we live and the rules that we live under. a wise man once told me that nothing is wrong until someone says it is wrong. how dose that apply here? well if you live in a society where every one thoughts there garbage down were ever they are and you don't then you are the odd ball. until a few years ago most Bajaicans thought they were beatifying the desert when they painted the rocks along the Highway:spingrin:

I don't buy it---------

----------that "wise man" may in fact be very wise, but I think he missed the boat on this one.

I have NEVER known ANYBODY that would look you straight in the eye and say that throwing your trash on the ground was the "normal and right thing to do"--------NOBODY!!! unless they were just trying to goad you into an argument.

There are no excuses for littering, period.

Now, do you think that I am being a little dogmatic about this subject????? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

I remember where I grew up until I was about 10 years old people would not think of leaving that candy wrapper in there car until the got to the next gas station or trash can which there were none. Barry A. you must be allot younger than I or come from some more advanced civilization or something.

Bruce-----

------I get your point, and I was afraid that I was coming off as "mr. perfect", but this subject just drives me crazy!!!

Now, as for the freeway------the only folks that upset me on the freeway are the "toads" that like to cruize in the left lane (the PASSING lane!!!!) and refuse to move over to the right lane when somebody (usually me) comes up behind them. These folks should be arrested, NOW!!!!! Who in blue blazes do they think they are hogging the road and being totally judgemental by staying in MY way----------don't they know that "it is all about ME"???

Lucky you're not driving in some European country where passing on the right is strictly prohibited and gets you a nice fat ticket. At least here you can go by him /her on the right and salute him.:lol::lol::lol:

Absolutely!!!!!!

Bruce you are indeed a wise fellow.

There are a lot of things I don't like in this world but I don't become rabid in my reaction to them........Life is far too short for that.

Bernie and Vandenberg------

Bernie---------"rabid" is a relative term------you should see me when I REALLY get upset (kidding)-------at my age I agree with you that getting all bent out of shape about something is not wise, but I feel I must comment when folks make statements that I think are just off-base. I'm not really upset.

Vandenberg----- Big city cop when I turned 21----went on to be a Federal cop until age 58---------is that scary to you?

Now retired 10+ years, and loving it.

Passing on the right isn't necessary

It's remarkable how slower drivers will move to the right when they glance in the rearview and see nothing but the grill of your pickup. At night, it also helps to flick on the halogen high beams and fog lights. Lights up the inside of their vehicle like in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." I'll bet Barry misses those police car spotlights.

getting back to garbage. The previous generation to mine, what was it?, "the greatest generation", were littering swine! Prior to Lady Byrd Johnson our highways etc. looked like that of Mexico today.:barf:

Education is the answer, and a little bit of money from the tight fisted gov't in Mexico City...My beautiful little Pueblo on the west coast actually has clean up your yard days..bueno, but the dump (all six million sq miles) of it, are something to behold.

Home to Baje end of this month, ahhhh, Baja!

My Dad of the "greatest generation " taught me that it was a sin to litter !!!

DanO---gotta be careful--I've had a couple of scary incidents --I normally drive a big 4-wheel drive Diesel , but some people are crazy enough to challedge anyone, anytime. I had to use mace one time and draw my weapon in self defense another time. So now I dawwle along and pass them when it's clear.

well, I'm sixty, and the generation before mine had no conception of littering.

Lady Byrd, a big Thank You!

To those of you who NEVER saw any litter, I wonder where you lived/grew up. Lets face it, if there had been no litter there sure would have been no program for Lady Bird to push.
