Right on, Mulege Marv! So, to of all you who aren't contributing to the spirit of the thread, which is, in case you all forgot, listing non-smoking restaurants in Baja: please stop polluting the thread!

Tobacco-free restaurants

No problem with smoke/smokers unless they're blowing it in my face. Was a long time smoker. started at the age of 12, quit at 28. The few places I've been lucky enough to dine at down in Baja where pretty much wide open with lots of ventilation. Would like to see somebody puffing enough to smoke-up the the great outdoors.:D

Marv -- how many Tecates did you have when you wrote this? And how does it fit into the conversation?

Oh, I know! IT DOESN'T!

Judy, Can I get directions please say from Aeroporto (spell??)

BTW until this thread I had not seen very many Baja people smoking and none in restaurants. Come to think of it I have not seen anyone smoking in Todos Santos. It bothers me enough I think I would have notice especially The Hotel California Bar. Maybe my memory is worst then I think:rolleyes:

Al
Coming into San Jose from the airport. you will go through 7 traffic lights. After the 7th one you will pass the big Pemex on the left then there is a Formula Uno(there are two, this is the second one) on the right and you will see a traffic light ahead, look to your right after the nursery for an orange building with Rossy's on it. If there is no parking in front, take a right at the light and park along there.

I wonder

Should we ask Doug to set up a smoking section and a non-smoking section right here on the forum. No windows and very good ventilation.

Sadly, it now seems that Baja is exposed to another sort of Gringo biases.

Camping out is great for the soul and the lungs too!

I'll bet there are one or perhaps even two very nice people who smoke and post here. Should we get together and ban them.

And what about the non-smokers who say, so forceable, things others do not wish to hear.

I don't smoke and I don't like the smell of smoke but until someone can really come up with direct proof that second hand smoke will really shorten my life (now 70) then I guess I will still keep my wonderful friends who happen to smoke.

But I sure would never think of expecting our hosts in this once fantastic country to change "more" of their culture to accommodate ours.

Let's all lighten up a bit--No, I didn't say light up.

Bernie

I'm heavy on smoking when your friends start needing oxygen and while taking oxygen light up I always worried they would blow themselves up but no they just died. In my own case having heart disease iv'e had two doctors tell me if I smoked I would be dead!!!!!!!!!!

All I was getting at was this----Let's all lighten up a bit--No, I didn't say light up.---and that is what I meant.

I didn't ask for anyone's medical background and I am afraid I can trump you in all areas but that just 'ain't what we are on this board for. General Hospital belongs on WebMd which I visit a quite often.

Recently confirmed: second-hand tobacco smoke causes amnesia.

It is wonderful to laugh when the subject is so bad.
I want all to know that if I get the chance to meet you, and you smoke, I will not do or say anything disrespectful. I certainly will not get in your face. It will be a pleasure to meet you. I have a very close friend, who does not smoke, but on rare special occasions will enjoy a stogies, about the size...no won't go there... He once talked me into puffing on one and it was not bad for about 5-6 puffs and now he doesn't make any more offers. I guess they cost $20-30 dollars. Now he sets down wind, and we enjoy a great bottle of Cab, spent watching the evening stars appear at a high Sierra lake or on the shore of the Cortez or Pacific.

Peace....

Oh, why can't all of you get off this thread and start your own about the benefits of smoking or the rights of smokers or whatever? This was just supposed to be list of restaurants in Baja that allow those of us paying for the meal to ENJOY it without the benefit of any cigarette smoke whether it be first hand, second hand or otherwise. Some of us just like to TASTE the food which you can't do when it's "enhanced" by cigarette smoke...no matter you be outside, with fans, well ventilated...if you don't like cigarette smoke....it does not much matter.
