Both Shell and Chevron have permits in the pipeline. I predict that at least one of these will become a reality.

It's a good thing. CNG is much safer and more economical than propane. This means progress for Baja.

Heard that sometimes these pipelines and processing plants allow good sandbars to form...with the resulting much needed left break 100 yard long rides...

Mixed bag

A mixed result, IMHO. The plant would have brought many good paying jobs for Baja, and much needed natural gas for the voracious U.S. appetite. On the other hand, the vessels that carry LNG are incredibly dangerous. I have heard that if a fully loaded vessel were to explode, the resulting devastation would be akin to a small nuclear device.

Go solar, baby!

I support the Chevron project, is far away from shore to guarantee our safety, and you wont even see it.

Thumbs up from me to Chevrons project.

Okay, explain how a liquid (-256) stored in a non pressurized container can explode. That's how LNG is transported.

Well, you'd have to heat it until it reached a sufficient vapor point(which would be easy at any normal ambient temp) and then make sure it was in the proper explosive range(fuel to oxygen ratio) and then add an external ignition source. That'd be a hell of a trick!;)

Well, you both told me how to get LNG to burn, but explode? Ain't gonna happen. The idea that vessels transporting this stuff are bombs waiting to explode is myth. Same goes for the regasification plants.

Now the liquefaction plants= DANGEROUS!
