Poitically correct Christmas in Mexico?
I was thinkin' bout all the crap that flew around last year when "Christmas" was replaced by "Holiday".
I was wondering if Mexico ever experiences anything like the melting-pot of the good ol' U.S. of A?
They are still at it in some US cities. Good grief, or shall I say good lord, aren't we supposed to get along?
Now I am doin' it!
BTW- Little Miss Sunshine has locs and bagels for Christmas morning. >source= Jay Leno<Hmmmmmmmm?
So whos' the convert?

OK, here's something for Christmas.
What do you use for a Chrismas tree in a place like Loreto?
An imported tree?
An artificial tree?
A local tarote tree?
We got ours...

We have used mangroves growing in our frontyard...with seashells for decor. Very nice with some candles.
Summanus....ancient Roman Nightly Thunder God. He liked refrieds too.

We have a potted three headed yucca with lights and ornaments inside.
Last year it was a 6' tall cheflera.
Of course, the 30' pine tree growing outside has over 200' of lights !

One year back in the '60s when we were living in La Paz, we dug up an ocotillo out in the boonies, put it in a pot, and decorated it with Christmas
stuff.
Just about every kid in the eighborhood came by to laugh at it. Their families all had fir Christmas trees imported from Tacoma.

Once I spray-painted a tumbleweed all white and decorated it with nothing but tiny blue lights. It looked rather elegant, actually.
Although 7th Day Adventists and a few other evangelical Protestant groups have been making inroads and former PRI governments, especially the
Card##as administration were officially atheistic, Mexico is still an overwhelmingly Catholic country. Every town has it's Saint's Day and there is
little difference between "Legal" and "Religious" holidays. Rampant PCism is a long way from happening here.
All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.

We're surrounded by Christmas trees as far as the eye can see, fully covered by as much snow as they can support. Inside? Only firewood is allowed. Merry Christmas.
