RandyMac - Magic, brujas/os, curanderas/os?

Hi RandyMac: You are a thoughtful, philosophical person. What are your thoughts about magic in general, and the traditional practices in Baja in particular?

I'll have to ponder on that while I go for my walk today...

My 85 year young aunt Flora said the same to me when I dropped by to see her in Saratoga California on my return from the Baja.

She's a wonderful person and a Doctor of Psychology, and we always have great wide ranging conversations for days when I visit. In fact, my cousin Darryl (another Dr. of the Noodle and Former Commander of the U.S. Army Research Institute) and his wife Maryann (amazing artist) said the only time my auntie Flora's been out of bed before noon and stays up until 11:00 at night in the past 9 months is when I visited her on my way down to the Baja.

Now that makes me wonder....................

Oh. Yes. The walk. Very important. Phone auntie Flora later. See if anyone's talked to her lately.

Magic

To add my penny worth on this topic, what we consider to be magic today is really the survival of another pre-CHristian body of knowledge, including the use of plants for curing. I would think that the best place to connect would be in the cemetery of San Francisco Javier Mission, or any of the Baja missions with an identifiable cemetery.
