We all obviously waste time at the computer. How many Nomads play Free Cell?
My wife and I justify the time spent "problem solving" by claiming that we are fighting-off Alzheimer's Disease! Will anyone else "cop" to some form
of Free Cell addiction?

Yes, I am a FreeCell as well as Spyder solitaire aficionado. However, I have graduated to Su Doku where I am a Black Belt. I also like the Mensa
site to clear my mind. Finally I am trying constantly to improve my spelling and grammar. Take this test: http://www.sentex.net/~mmcadams/spelling.html

I KNEW it! Started at zero and just solved 3659. Most recent to kick my butt: 3637. An all new record for losses in a row!!!
Mensa I am not. Densa perhaps! I can't get above a 78% win average and 51 in a row is my current best.
Good mental exercise though.

yes, far too much Freecell so here's a way to make yourself quit --
when you are losing just press: shift, control, F10 all at the same time. Instant win. Takes the fun out of playing.

BajaBound...I didn't want to hear that! I have always wanted to be able to back out of a game, where I haven't made a move, without getting a loss.
Because I don't start the next draw til I've won the last, I hate it when I pull up a draw I've already won and then have to win it AGAIN.
Densa!

Dennis: We're PCs you may be a Mac. Free Cell is a sort of up-side-down solitare. You can see all your options before you start moving cards. On
Windows XP there are now one million different draws. I understand that there is still one draw that cannot be solved. You'll find it in your start
menu under games. The rules couldn't be much simpler. Start playing at your own risk.

Now you've done it! I hadn't played free cell in years and couldn't even remember what it was, now I'm not sure when I'll sleep tonight.
It's pretty silly that such a simple game can be so addictive.

FreeCell---dang it. I also had forgotten about that game---now it is on my mind----
Spelling? Any class in college that did not allow the use of a dictionary was dropped---gave my history students bonus points for every one of my
spelling errors they found. Missed 17.

Diane: I got a chuckle there. I had a really contentious relationship with a prof. in a Survey of World Religions class.
I corrected the spelling on his final, and he gave me a B even though I ACED his test.
I'm a "micro-historian", what did you teach?

Ah, the egos of many Social Science Professors---(sorry if that offends any one, and there are REAL exceptions). I also used to teach my high school
students some of the practical sides of getting through college. Example, all Social Science Professors have a "point of view", some conservative,
some liberal, and while they say they will accept opposing views, don't buy it--most of them really want scarf and barf on their tests---their egos
get in the way.
Even though I became a teacher 'late in life' , I have taught a number of things in a number of places. But one of my favorites, and most difficult,
was teaching Advanced Placement U.S. History to students in Calexico where about 98% spoke English as a second or third language.
Besides not being able to spell, I also have 0 artistic ability, so the first day of class, I would draw a stick figure on the board and tell them,
that was it---they took pitty and would volunteer when I needed something illustrated.
Now, back to that dang FreeCell game!
Diane
