Considering Medical Treatment in TJ?

Yesterday I had an appointment with a neurologist in the Hospital Angeles in Tijuana (a two-year-old, fifteen-plus story tower with marble floors and fantastic abstract paintings on the walls that resembles a luxury resort).

My TJ opthalmologist referred me to him (OP exam roughly $80).

Dr. Menchaca sent me out for a brain MRI. The lab was a few blocks away from the hospital and his receptionist rode along to guide us.

The "Imagen" facility was clean, bright and busy. The imaging machine looked like it was fresh out of the box.

Cost for the MRI, U.S. $459.

Cost for the office visit with Dr. Menchaca, U.S. $60.

I have witnessed so many medical nightmares in Mexico. Be extremely careful with your choices.

How so?

Were you the observing physician?

I've had both elective and emergency treatment/surgery in Mexico and can second Jan's appraisal.
