Fuel in Bahia de Los Angeles
So it finally opened! I heard a rumor that Martha will sell gas on credit so the local community can still afford to buy beer from her as well.

Actually, I think the real question is - will they be able to stay in business?
The costs of putting up one of these places are VERY high, the return pretty small. Hard to make a business case for one, let alone TWO for a town
with less than 1,000 people.
Guess the days of hauling barrels to Guerrero, ferrying them out to the boat via aluminum skiff, hand pumping into the big boat ... are over. At least
for now. A GOOD thing!

Now that's funny! And tragic as well. The evolution of Lucy's "fish for beer" observation of years back. Now, they fish for beer, meth and gas.

Amazing... I was told by one Mexicano that Pemex required 1 million pesos for a station to just get started. Other start up costs were over and above
that. Maybe Baja Cactus Has some info????

Gee. Maybe he changed his screen name because he wanted some anonymity. So much for that idea...

It was this in 4baja's thread that gave it away: "thanks franko for the report,"
Why anonymity when we are all amigos?
I tried to register as Baja Spell Checker for the times I would correct a misspelled Baja place name... Doug doesn't allow more than one active handle
per person.
I was curious because it had been a long time since I saw a post from FrankO... I know how new children can postone Baja stuff... right Camote?

Hey Frank,
Really nice to see the babies.. I am looking to visiting BOLA in early July if the budget is right otherwise September.
How is La Maestra? When ever I think of Baja you guys are always on my mind. I never forget that rig set-up you had then. Juan and I still
reminice about the time we were in Bola camping next door to you and David K and Debra just a couple cabins further down.
We remember often Debra's fresh clam chowder and how you are alwys prepared with stakes and chicken all the goodies for a good week at BOLA.
Hope to see you there one of these years, I know that when the twins get a little older it is going to offer a whole new experience and perspective.
I pray that your children are always blessed and just as sharp as you are. Say hello to La Esposa from My self (Alex) and I know Juan says
hello as well.
Juan has made a couple of trips to Gonazaga Bay in the last month and will be there again next week since , he is purchaseing some land there.
His aunt owns a good chunck of it in from of, I think is "el guerfanito" Island.
Anyway nice to see that picture of one of San Diegos' finest Fire Fighters.
Asta Pronto,
SoCalAl
Alex
Ahh Baja.... Where you can hear yourself think & commingling with the locals will humble you.
