Baja Nomad - I can't believe how long it has been.

It seems like only yesterday that the blue font and grid lines of Baja Nomad seemed so new. Just tonight I stumbled onto the Member's List, and I see that it has been about 4 1/2 years since I joined up (member #82 out of the total of 4257 members listed as of today). Exploring the Member's List has proved to be pretty interesting. I see prominent members who have posted through the years (David K who has posted 11,072 posts). I also see that most members have posted just a couple of times, and we haven't heard from them since. (It makes me wonder how many lurkers there must be out there.) I see beloved members who have since passed on. Those who have immigrated from Amigos. I see other former prominent members who have dropped out such as Stephanie Jackter and Yankeeirishman. It all brings back so many memories about our little corner of the world called Baja Nomad. Here's a toast.

as much as some guys (yeah CH, talkin' 'bout you! but don't worry bro, you are a relic...) wanna keep baja to themselves-well, the cat's outta the bag......i've only met two other nomads out on the trail, but it seems like it's only a matter of time...

this forum is unreal......how else could you maximize every moment whilst in baja, unless you had 10,000 amigos ready to give thier opinion on your perspective (sp?) destination?????

see you down the road a bit, amigos!!!!! the first cold one is on me:spingrin: and the first two waves are mine!!!!!

Yeah, Woody I found out about this place north of GN where someone caught a record uglyfish. That can't be allowed unless I catch a big ol uglyfish too! Now I just gotta get over there and try!! Hope I run into him.:lol:

Vandy, you know. A bunch of commies in the rotary club.

But seriously, or not. We do have a good time here.

Meeting various members over the years has been a big plus. How else would we have met?

Thanks Doug!

I must say that this site is almost like a drug, calling me back several times a day to see what the latest post, question, picture, story or fight :smug: is about. The wealth of information found on this board is second to none. I joined after hurrican John, as I was concerned for friends that live in Mulege. Baja is the love of my life, next to my husband and children of course.:lol:

When I turn on my computer, go to the Nomad site it's like popping into a big family reunion, only better. You can sit tight or mingle, chat or just listen, move around til you find the special group of cousins that like your jokes. You can come and go, wear what you like -- no body cares if you have money in your pockets or a stain on your shirt. If some little group wants to rant about religion or politics they are free to wander out behind the barn so as not to bother the others. It strikes me that no matter how much knowledge we have, just tuning in to the thoughts and ideas of so many Bajaphiles humbles and softens our "my way only" attitudes -- if we just learn there are so many other ways, the forum has done it's job. I have opened up to new ideas because of the board -- usually, for old relics like me it would be the other way around. Thanks to all -- especially new, young, smart people more prepared than I ever was to meet the challenges of traveling in a heaven full of pitfalls.

Wow...time does fly!!!! Registered Oct, 2003 when we were researching our first driving trip south. Now I am asking questions about mini-splits!!!!! How did that happen:lol:

We have met some incredible people from this board. Never had a problem getting questions answered and always one of the first places I go to for answers. Thanks Doug !
