Get off at the San Ysidro Blvd. exit. Head south towards the border. They are everywhere.

As the previous poster said if you take the SY Blvd exit you'll see many of them. Just make sure they don't charge commission and the exchange rate to
buy pesos is close, within half a peso or less, to the current exchange rate online. Some of these places like to play tricks with the decimal point
to rip you off. There are many sites online where you can check current exchange rates.

I see the current rate is 10.95 so I'll watch for competitive rates off of SY Blvd.

If you exit at San Ysidro Blvd, make a left at the end of the offramp and exchange money at any of the exchange places there. Do not make a right
because 99% of the exchange places to the west of 805 have a bad exchange rate or charge commission, to the east of 805 its straight exchange/no
commision,
PS
Don't ask me why.

ALL exchanges charge commission. That's how they make a profit. It just depends on whether the price is built in, or not.
New development (to me):
Last week I wanted to exchange $1000 at COSTCO. The cashier said she needed to record ID for any amount 1K and over. I said, "OK, give me $999.99"

I thought the Cambios made their money on short term secured loans. Dont know about now but, the banks wouldn't do that and the Cambios made mucho
with their high interest rates but, that was the only option for someone in financial need.

10.87 was the best rate at SY on Friday for buying pesos with dollars.
