August 31, 2003 I climbed aboard the Merry-Go-Round and grabbed the gold ring. Came up with #299. One of the luckier days of my life.
Thanks Doug! And all the rest of the Nomads.
My smidgen of a claim to fame is that I have had so many really good friends. By Bernie Swaim December 2007

A great place to be when we can't be in Baja!
I am member #10, but because those between #1 (Doug, the Baja Nomad himself) and me never were active or only posted a time or two... I am the second
oldest active Nomad... and love to share or join in, have the most posts.
I was on Doug's previous forum as I am on a couple other Baja forums today, but back in 1999-2003 (for me) it was Amigos de Baja at bajanet.com where
the action was. Doug created the new Baja Nomad forums in 2002 that we see here today. When Amigos de Baja retired in 2003, this was the natural new
home for nearly all of us from Amigos de Baja.
Doug works VERY hard to keep this site alive and we enjoy it for free. I ask everyone who enjoys viewing or posting on Baja Nomad to please contribute
in some way, either by purchasing a Baja Nomad shirt or other item from the 'Tienda Baja Nomad' (link at the top of each page in the gold bar),
purchasing items from Nomad sponsors like BajaBound.com or clicking on to the Google ads at the top of the page... It all helps Doug keep Nomad alive
for our enjoyment, friendship making and travel guide assistance!
Viva Baja Nomad!
