Do you GoogleEarth? Beaches of Mulege tour.

If you use GoogleEarth you can view this file. After screen loads use the dropdown menu to "Play tour". Then wait ten seconds... Best viewed in "Full screen mode"
I can't say if this will work on all GoogleEarth versions. Anyway it's pretty much just a test to see if we can share this stuff.

Cllck the link and see what happens.
Please scroll down and try the latest file I posted on this thread, thanks.

I tried it on my Mac, Google Earth ver. 4.0.2413 (beta).

Had to use the "Open file" function to access your file. Then all I could get was a new placemark for that beach at the south end of BOC where someone steal your stuff.

I may try and see if I can upgrade my application.

Worked great - Took me a quick flight from the south end of Bahia Conception to just north of Puertecitos and into El Canelo. Hovered for a min, then back to Conception. Good work Sharks

Sharks,
It opened on Windows XP but just one placemark. The "Play Tour" option played all of my selected placemarks - and the one placemark from your link.

I de-selected all of my placemarks and opened your file again. Still just one placemark in southern Concepcion Bay. Yes, I tried 'play tour'. Hmmmm. I'll be home on my Mac in an hour. I WANNA SEE!!!

OK, I've upgraded, all current Mac software.

No joy.

The "tour" function takes you from placemark to placemark, right? But the file I downloaded from you only gives me one placemark, in BOC. So the tour begins, and ends, there.

It begins there, but goes 500 miles north to the Puertecitos area before returning to that place mark.

Well, for gosh sakes

I just tried the file on my laptop with
GoogleEarth ver.4-0-2722. Suffice to say that it only lists one placemark. I had a sneaking suspicion that different versions do different things. Well this version sucks. A good number of folks have asked me why I can do some things but not others with the same program. It is obvious now that the early BETA programs are the ones that read and place ALL the placemarks and other info. My guess is that they want people to buy the upgrade.
My advice; get an older 3.0 version or a beta and see if that doesn't render you more effective with certain elements in the program.
Very interesting indeed. Lou, I use the same products as you do.you GatewAY!

Interesting, I played it again and it just took me from BoC to El Canelo, then I hit "Play Tour" again and had a detailed tour right mu my GPS track to where we turned around. Great - but different from the first time I played it. Of course then it was in Temporary Places and now I've saved it to My Places.

Okay, that just took an hour of my evening... once I get flying over Baja it's too hard to stop!

Thanks Sharks...

By the way, for me, the tour started at a waypoint on the south end of Concepcion Bay then went to a waypoint I made once in Ensenada, then to Google University or where-ever near the Bay Area... then back to Concepcion Bay.

The "tour" function will take you to all waypoints highlighted or "checked" in the menu on the left side of the screen. So specific tours should be placed in their own separate folders, that folder checked and others unchecked for that tour.

The problem I'm having here is shark's file is only loading one waypoint in my version. I suspect my Mac version, although the latest, may be a step or so behind the windows version, and I don't have windows running on my Mac yet.

Okay, that makes sense... as there is only one waypoint from Sharks and one from me in the folder... How would I add Sharks other waypoints since they weren't in the file link I clicked on in his post?

Hmmmm??? ok Lou but be careful you might lose yer good stuff. ;D I'll look into it tonight and see what I can derive. Funny how some retrieved points that I may have had on my list of waypoints but were not included in the file. Mucho curioso!:?::?:

There is something preventing this version from installing all the points. I suspect that with certain versions that all points need to be in a named directory. I'll try that. Thanks for the input you guys.
