Actually there was a third winery (which probably should be mentioned as well) - La Casa de Doña Lupe. Their winery is right by LA Cetto at the north end of the valley.

http://www.donalupe.com/mapa.html

I promised the gentleman at the event that I would stop by their winery.

BTW... I don't view the V. Guadalupe wines as having "value" wines, but was very impressed with the quality of the "Calafia" line of wines that were just US$5. Definite surprise. Was also told that event-goers purchased up a lot of the quality stuff while they were there Saturday.

David - nice pics - thanks for sharing.

:-)

We had a great time, arrived on Friday late afternoon and left on Sunday around 10 a.m. for some shopping south of Rosarito Beach. Hit the border at Otay around 1 p.m. for a 2 hour and 40 minute wait! Ouch!

Everything in between our arrival and departure was absolutely wonderful and we had a great time meeting everyone. We'll definately do it again!

On a sad note however, one of the Pyramid's guest's vehicle (an older Black Izusu Trooper) was stolen on Sunday morning. It was parked right next to our vehicle (White Super Duty with black rack and Baja stickers) on the north end of the parking area in front of the rooms. A definate bad way to end a great weekend. Good luck to the party that lost the vehicle...

Forgot to mention a special gracias to Keri for orgainizing such a successful event, and we were very comfortable in our clean room with a beautiful unobstructed view.

Another big gracias to the authors and vendors who showed up and hopefully sold a lot of products.

Also, to David and Elizabeth for working the raffle/drink coupon table all day! Nice to see the both of you again!

Mike, (Fishbuck) Chris and I enjoyed your stories immensely, and we hope to hook up in Baja again with you soon.

Naw, it could happen anywhere, Mex or U.S.

Important, buy full coverage if you can't afford to lose it, and have at least an alarm .

It happens EVERYWHERE (even in the U.S. or Baja Sur)!

There was a nice retired man with a Cherokee camping on Concepcion Bay, not that long ago... who was KILLED by the tugs who stole HIS car! That was in Baja Calif. Sur.

Oh man....The security guy...I didn't get his name... was so nice...During the Tequila Tasting he came in asking who had the Jeep parked up top...it was the only car left up there and should be brought down, which he did... (It was a very crucial part of the tasting...I couldn't leave ;D)

Later we talked and I mentioned Keri's rig being stolen a while back. He proudly said that nothing had been stolen since he started working there.

Guess he sorta jinxed himself with that comment.

Maybe a thief disguised as security guard asked those people for the car keys and like jeans, they just handed them over:?:

No, the car was parked in the same spot in front of the vehicle owners room.

The security guy's name is Richard I believe. Yes, we even commented on what a nice man he is after meeting him and showing us to our room.

Things just happen, cars get stolen. It sucks.
