TJ Beer is here!

Well, the tour post by Ferna and Doug's link to where one can buy TJ Beer in the U.S. was right on!

In fact, I went to the Costco in Vista, and not only was there cases and cases of Tijuana Beer, Morena & Guera... but the brewery boss was there too... who we had met in Tijuana!

Here's my truck in my garage, fresh from Costco:

So how are they?
like Modelo?, Tecate?, Corona? XX?, Negra Modelo?

Best Mexican beer out there?
Hand crafted taste?
Mass produced taste?
Brewed in a trashcan taste?
Better than Buttwiper? ;)

Refreshing on a hot summer day?

Details please!

Please, I only drink beer that has a good, smooth flavor! They are unlike any other beers, but the Guera is close to Bohemia to my buds. The Morena has a sweet, woody flavor and since I don't drink dark beer very often, I couldn't really compare it.

The brewmaster is from the Czek Republic and the Guera is a Czek Pilsner style beer with character... See http://www.tjbeer.com for details.

We toured the brewery... at VivaBajaCactus, last November...

More on TJ Beer (from their web site)

Our Beers...
are all 100% Pure Beer! Brewed only with Barley Malt, Hops, Yeast and Water under the Strictest Guidelines of the International Purity law of 1516. They are all distinguished, elite, gourmet beers for the most demanding palates. They are all the only Hand Crafted, Limited Production, Lager beers in Mexico!

Our family recipe and the personal attention of our master brewer creates a beer that excites the senses. With his experience, care, and effort, he brings together all of the elements that result in the aroma, body and taste of our excellent beer. In each of our beers, he has blended a Mexican brewing recipe with a Czech twist. It is with great pleasure that we offer you the fruits of our efforts.

Tijuana Guera
A beer that satisfies the taste of beer connoisseurs. Its blend of finely balanced hops and malt and the bottom fermentation used to brew this beer produce an uncommonly rich flavor. It is a full-bodied Lager beer with a crisp flavor and aroma. Once you drink this beer you won’t change it for any other.
4.5% Alc. Vol.
Extr.Orig. 10.5

Tijuana Morena
This Dark beer is unique among all others. Its smooth body, light caramel flavor and mahogany color are a result of the special combination of several malts. With its sweet aftertaste it is believed to be a delicacy among beers.
4.5% Alc. Vol.
Extr.Orig. 11.5%
