Back from Honeymoon
Took a cruise on Carnival Liberty, Mexican Riviera, Costa Rica and Panama, eight days..A first for us and a last.
Beautiful ship, great service etc. Was not for us though, seems more in tune for people who live in gated communities . Very "organized", very baaaa, baaaa, follow the leader, no gracias. Give us a 4X4
and out of the way places....Home to Baja next month.
Any other Nomads have any thing to say about cruises?

Never been on a cruise. Don't want to be on a boat for any length of time with a
bunch of strangers and unable to fish.

Any ship that has dinners where I can't wear my Birkenstocks to dinner is out
Any ship with organized activities would definitely put John overboard.
Just can't imagine us on one of those cruises, and it sounds like it will be your last---- good thing you agree with each other.

Non stop activities and food, food, food... Never a moment to relax on the deck chairs! I will take camping in the middle of Baja any day!

We took one, our last. Best part was the day we spent at Tulum. We rented a cab at Playa Del Carmen and our own guide and avoided the crowded Cruise
Tour (at 1/2 the price).

The only reason we would take a cruise is if the price was very good - then we would only use the ship for transportation services. The main problem
for us is they don't stop long enough to enjoy each destination on your own.
We choose to pass on cruises.

Edit.... same goes for bus tours! Too much "follow the leader" going on.
