Antonio, you need to have a chat with that kid who put regular in my car after I specifically, twice, told him I wanted Premium. My car has to have Premium, as it has a supercharger. When I got bent out of shape he just looked at me with this blank stare and said the Premium pump was out of order at the pump I had parked at. I was going to make him siphon it out until I realized I had a can of octaine boost. Needless to say he didn't get the usual 5 peso tip for cleaning my window.

The Mexican Peso is getting a little stronger against the US Dollar = higher price for fuel - in Dollars.

The price of gas is falling here in San Diego. You can find it at some places for as low as $3.19 a gallon. I'm going to Baja as soon as I get a chance!
Thanks Antonio for the wonderful update.

It was $3.19 at Arco in San Marcos and $3.21 at Costco, yesterday.... San Diego County.

Remember, you must go at least 20 km. south of the border to find Pemex gas prices that Antonio posted. Stations near the border demanded price matching back when U.S. gas was lower than Mexican gas, and now those border region stations are stuck with that deal!

According to the Profeco site, Magna in Mexico City is 6.88 L - so Baja pricing is still a bargain in Mexico.

It is interesting that artificial price fixing many times backfires. CaboRon

I hate 'good old day' stories,
but here goes another,
back in '79 or '80 while
working at the San Onofre
Nuke Plant, northern San Diego
County, a buddy of mine bought
a new VW diesel rabbit,
with an additional 10 gal tank
installed, capacity then 20,
one could buy diesel at( I hope
my memory serves me),
$.11 a gal In TJ, so at
$2 and something cents,
the range would be 1000 or
so

Yeah, the good old days. Had a 250 Ford, Camper special with 2 tanks, 45 gallons total. Filled up for around $ 11.00. However, there were times that I didn't have $ 11.00, quite a few as a matter of fact.:lol::lol:

Good Old Days

In my senior year in HS gas was generally going for twenty-five cents a gallon.... but there was a gas war in San Diego and gas dropped to fifteen cents a gallen. Go Class of '63 !!!!!! :bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce: :bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce: CaboRon

Remember when you had to pay extra for "Bronze" - the stuff with Tetra-Ethyl-Lead -- later to be called "Ethyl".

It seems real cheap, but go to this link to see what $10 in 1963 equals to in 2006... very interesting stuff.

Example: $65.84 in the year 2006 has the same "purchase power" as $10 in the year 1963.

Nope, sorry but it's the Democrats preventing the U.S. oil producers from getting gas out of our own ground ... then we have to buy from other countries... THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG!

Baja and back

Try to get your urban myths right before you Canucks spout off about the US Presidents.:fire:

In Jan 2001 the price of texas-super unleaded - actual price paid $1.60 per gal - which adjusted for inflation in 2007 from the base line price in 1979 is $1.00 per gallon. The 2007 price is based upon an actual price at the pump of $3.33 and using the inflation index is approximately $.10 more expensive than a gallon in 1979.:wow:
