My wife and I did honeymoon in Baja, infact it was the first time we flew our plane down. It was July of 1999. We actually did baja as a last minute
addition to our trip down the coast. Stops along the way include Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, Pismo beach, Sandiego and then Baja on a whim. We didn't
have a GPS and found our landingstrips by dead reckoning (looking out the window). We had a wonderful time and everyone treated us like kings because
we were just married. Since then we have flown all over Mexico and central america. I highly recomend a mexican honeymoon to anyone, they will really
spoil you. Expect a lot of teasing about starting a family while you are there.
Fly low, land on roads.

June, 1985 Baja Honeymoon (wife #1)... to the tip and back:
Beach camping near San Quintin, L.A. Bay (La Gringa), Concepcion Bay (El Requeson), Punta Conejo, and near La Paz (Los Aripes)... and we also stayed
at Hotel Mision in Loreto and La Posada in San Ignacio.
Finding the Santiago Zoo was one of the interesting events!
In 1985 one could actually see the cape without hotels and condos in the way!

March 1971 - Our wedding night was at the San Nicholas Hotel in Ensenada. The manager, Augustin La Farga was a family friend of my in-laws. They had
a beach house at El Faro.
When we arrived we went straight down to the restaurant, but Augustin sent a bottle of champagne to our room. When the waiter told him there was no
answer to his knock, he was told to go back and knock LOUDER as we might be "busy".
We spent two weeks at the beach house at El Faro with side trips to La Buf and Santo Tomas.
In 1995 I took a repair call (phone installation & repair) for an apt. complex in National City and was told to see the manager, Augustin La
Farga. It was fun to see his eyes light up when I told him I remembered him from the San Nicholas.
Oh...that husband? History after 1974... Baja? I'm still in love!
P.S. My Mom & Dad were married in Ensenada in 1951...in fact, they liked getting married in Ensenada so much...they did it again...to other
people!

Geez Jeans, 1971 married you must have been what 15????? I stayed at the San Nicholas before but all we did was drink, party, drink and jacuzzi----Oh
yea there was some sleep. I did not Honeymoon down in Baja, as our first year money was very very tight , but our first real honeymoon was in Baja. We stayed in Rosarito at a place I believe was called Quinta Del Mar. Had
a great time as we stayed out drinking, dancing (mainly at Rosarito Beach Hotel as it was the place to party then), and even went into one place where
a great guitarist was playing and slowed our night down. We spent some
late night early morning time on the beach, as it was easier staying awake til all hours of the morning back then. Now, that was a few years back
around 1977.

Mr Gypsy, myself and our four kids had our honeymoon in Baja, we did the whole thing, all the way down to Cabo and back, camped along the way, and had
a wonderful time. We even got our kids hooked on Baja!

I actually did the wedding in Cabo, twice!! The first was the official one with the Justice of the Peace in Oct. of 1997.
I spent about a week in Cabo, checking with immigration every day to see if our paperwork had been approved. There was a real ornery older lady that
ran the immigration office back then, and I remember her finally asked if I was sure I wanted to marry a Mexican!?!?
At that time there was an amnesty program on and my advisor in L.A. told me I should get married first, and the US immigration paperwork would be
easier for my husband. She was wrong, and I found out later, it would have been easier to get him across the border first as a fiancee. It did take
about 3 years of living in Playas de Tijuana, before he was finally given a green card!
Back to the real wedding. Some friends of mine own the Pez Gato catamarans in San Lucas, so we got married (unofficially) on Pez Gato I, in front of
the arch in Jan. 1998. Sailed around for a sunset cruise and then went to a very beautiful garden (which has since become condos) in town. Much of
my family as well as my husbands were there and it was a very special event.
We did the honeymoon on the drive up the coast, I had a couple of friends that had driven my car down (I flew), so we were not alone on the honeymoon!
We stayed in Sta. Rosalia, and then a few nights in Rosarito, before I headed back home and my hubby hung out with some relatives in TJ for awhile.
Ironically the couple who drove my car down, but were "just friends", ended up getting married a couple of days later.
10 years and 2 little girls later, and I'm still married to my "Mexican". We've lived in the US since 2002, but he's still adjusting to life on this
side of the border!
We'll be back in Cabo for the summer. I'm always amazed with the changes, but the family and friends are still the main attraction!

I was 18...
I loved the little cave-like bar in that place... I used to go in there with my in-laws. The "ex" was not much of a night person (meaning he did all
his drinking in the day...I sure missed that red flag), so we would leave him at home.
The young men would politley ask my "father" for permission to dance with me, then they would escort me back to the table and thank him again for the
privilege...so quaint!

Didn't honeymoon here but did propose on a vacation here in Loreto. Back then we stayed at the Whales Inn, which is now gone to build condos. We were
swimming and I got down one knee in the Sea of Cortez and proposed, lucky for me it was shallow, the water that is. She accepted, and two years later
we retired to Loreto.

six weeks camping and hoteling it once in awhile through baja, june/july 1994 tj to cabo and back, many off road adventures, much 'dry' camping. well
we made it through loreto, la paz, cabo and went up the eastcape road to cabo pulmo. dry camped there for five days. i was ready for a divorce on
day three but we rectified. divorced several years later. i'm in baja now he ain't

Current wife and I did a mini-horneymoon in Cabo. We planned a big trip to Africa a year after our wedding but wanted a getaway right after the
ceremony. She found a discounted package trip for 3 or 4 days, airfare, staying at the Hotel Cabo San Lucas and rental car. Hmm, why so cheap?
This was just after labor day in '96 and we learned by experience what happens with the weather at the Cape in Sept. CHUBASCO! Also, parts of the
historic hotel were under construction for remodeling. And, silly wife had starved herself prior to the wedding for vanity purposes and worked like a
dog doing her own catering for the ceremony after the caterer canceled at the last minute. She was exhausted to the point of illness by the time we
got down there. And, of course, the hotel said they hadn't received our prepaid reservation when we went to check in but we got that worked out.
All in all, we had a great time. Ran our rented old-style beetle all over the lightly developed east cape, snorkled at Cabo Pulmo, tried to snorkle
at the beach closest to the hotel (Chilano?)but the water was too stirred up from the storms which were only happening overnight. Spent very little
time in San Lucas but really enjoyed San Jose. I have a feeling it wouldn't be as fun down there anymore.
