Travel with son to BOLA

Hi:

I'll be leaving next Tuesday (6/19) for my regular "loop trip" (San Diego-San Felipe-Gonzaga-BOLA-San Quintin-San Diego).

I will be with my 14 year old son and will stay 2 nights in BOLA (6/21 and 6/22). We have no reservations as we like to be flexible.

Are any other nomads going to be in BOLA on 6/21 or 6/22 with teenagers? I travel with a porta-bote and 6 HP for some close-in island exploring and fun. Would love to find someone for my son to hang with (more fun than dad).

I was thinking Daggets or Larry and Raquel's.

Thanks,

Preston

Be carefull with that boat. It can get windy and raise a nice chop very fast.

Hey Preston...........I,ve done BOLA a couple times in my porta-bote and six,the nice thing about that place is all the islands, there,s always a lee side pretty close by.

What no fishin rods?????????....Those westerlys give no warning!!........I spent the better part of one night on the east side of smith,so its a heads up guy!!

baitcast:

thanks for the comments ... yes I will have my fishing rods. Our plan is to only stay on the west side of the closest islands ... will not try to cicumnavigate smith. I will be carrying a marine radio, let people know where I'm going and when I expect to return and will bring H2O ... but I appreciate the words of caution ... it will only sharpen by caution.

Anybody else plan to be in the area with teenagers at the same time?

Remember to have fishing licenses and boat permit when on the water.

Debra has a teenage son

I think she is in Bola now. try to look her up when you get there. MaryAnn Humfreville will know where she is. Debra might even be staying there with her. They are both Nomads. They check in on the board every once in a while ,maybe they will see this and give you better info than I can. Good Luck have a great trip,k How funny Debra posted at the same time . Hope you guys make the hook up,k

Keri, it seems you and Debra were typing at the same time... her post came in a couple minutes before yours... How's that for mind over matter powers!

All:

Thanks for the emails.

David: yes, I know about the boat and fishing license requirements ... but thanks for mentioning it.

Debra: by "Darn" I assume you will not be in BOLA with your son at the end of next week (June 21 and 22)? Is that correct? (Not sure how to do a U2U). Gecko used to be my lodging of choice but now I'm forced to go north of town.

Thanks again.
