Ensenada has been a bad place to stop for many years. Even the San Nicolas ,supposedly safe parking, was no good to some friends, who lost electronics
and their fighting chair from their boat. Everything was rebuttoned down, so they didn't notice it till well on the way to Loreto. " Security in on it
??". Another friend ,in the 80's, had his 250 crewcab broken into while having lunch. Lost everything that was locked in it. Gear, coolers, paperwork
etc.and was parked right on the main waterfront drag. And I know of many other bad experiences there. I have made it a rule to stay with the vehicle
whenever my wife decides to HAVE to shop for something.

Security in Baja and elsewhere
I can't imagine the loss here. For what it's worth, I've never had such a total loss as this situation but I've had breakins. There is at least
one thing people can do to cut the losses.
I have to assume that there was no alarm/security system on the truck? An alarm, triggered by someone breaking in, would have detered a thief, and
a ''kill switch'' -- a device that disables the engine from starting -- would have prevented the thiefs from driving off. Was there an alarm on
this truck? Can't speak for the boat -- things could have been stolen off of it.
For cars, pickups, anything motorized that can be broken into and driven off -- PUT AN ALARM SYSTEM ON IT. $300 will buy a basic system. It'll
pay for itself at the first attempted break-in.

Here's another option for a diesel. Pull the fuse for the PCM module.
I also use a device that freezes the brake. Fords must have the brakes depressed to release the steering lock and the ignition.
But nothing will stop a police department tow for the Chief...

kill switch hidden someplace inside the vehicle ... may not stop them but might slow them down some ...but as hook said above nothing will stop a tow
for the police dept.
just hate reading these kinds of posts but am thankfull the news gets through.

Truck had an alarm that was activated by me. Doors were locked, stuff in cab was all covered and out of sight.
Pic of boat attached.
Thanks for your support.

The FAQ says in order to add an attachment, you use the "UPLOAD' field.
I see nothing in the "post-reply' window that says 'UPLOAD"
Any help would be appreciated.

How much for the blonde?
I think one would have to ask, where would you sell/hide a boat like that? A good PI would probably know where to start looking. Don't we
have one that lives in Ensenada?

One thing that we can be fairly certain about the creep who stole your truck and boat is that he has reduced moral capacity (He's not quite human.)
due to reduced mental capability from complications during his birth because his mother's birth canal was obstructed by massive genital warts due to
her promiscuous lifestyle. The thief and his mother will meet each other in hell and be force fed methamphetamine for eternity as a form of ironic
punishment to befit their nasty living while in this world. I can't think of anything else that would apply to such human garbage, and I wish he knew
that some of us feel that way about the type of scum he is.

I noticed that you ended your original post with "cheers," so perhaps I was a bit hasty to speak on you behalf, but it's still how I feel about such
violators.

Well you know us Brits, Churchill, Thatcher, et al ....as they taught us in school....... keep your chin-up !
And always look on the bright-side.....we could have been mugged, attacked for the truck and boat.
