Buying a fridge in Mexicali

We need to buy a fridge for our house at Alfonsina's. We want to buy it in Mexicali to avoid the import hassle. Does anyone have advice about the best place to buy one there? We know there are Walmart, Sam's Club and Home Depot stores...but what would you recommend? Obviously we are looking for an energy efficient model. But we are not interested in the DC jobbies...have a solar system and AC in the house. Also ain't gonna pony up $2500 for a SunFrost or equivalent.

We also have a Sun Frost but did not buy it new. Got a deal($1500) on it from people(getting electricity) selling solar equipment farther south from SF. I love not dealing with those GAS refrigerators anymore!:D:D

Shopped for fridges for a upcoming purchase in San Felipe. LG seemed to be the most available. Appliance store towards the water on left two stops signs from the Glorietta. I felt, good prices, $400-$600.

Also available were stoves and water heaters and furniture. Cash price is best price they told me. Example: 30 gallon water heater propane, $200.

Haven't had a bad trip yet....
